This is the brand-new, revised reference to UML from the horse's mouth(s). Rumbaugh, Jacobson, and Booch, known as the Three Amigos (since they once performed together on a conference stage with guitars and hats) are the principal sources of the diverse materials that the UML 'unifies'. UML 2.0 incorporates much feedback and criticism of UML 1.x; the full specification is larger and even less readable than that of the earlier version, so an updated reference is very necessary.

For anyone who's been living in an isolated Hebridean croft without electricity, running water or the Internet these last few years, the UML is the industry-standard definition of models and system diagrams for use originally in object-oriented software development, but now much more widely applied throughout industry.

The CD-ROM with online index enhances the value of this major reference work.
